Key Living Homes is a relationship-driven design + build firm specializing in custom homes and whole-home renovations throughout Lincoln, St. Charles, and Warren Counties. We are an intentionally small, hands-on team focused on quality, communication, and delivering a high-level client experience.

🎯 Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and motivated superintendent to support our project management and field operations.

This role is designed for someone with construction experience who is ready to grow into a larger leadership position over time. The superintendent will work closely with ownership to help keep projects organized, on schedule, and executed to our standards.

This is a hands-on role that includes both field support and coordination responsibilities. With the goal of growing into a project manager.

💼 Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Support

• Assist in managing day-to-day job site operations alongside ownership
• Communicate with subcontractors regarding scheduling, site readiness, and expectations
• Help track project progress and report updates to the team
• Identify potential issues early and communicate solutions

Field Oversight

• Visit active job sites to ensure quality, cleanliness, and progress
• Serve as a reliable on-site presence when ownership is not available
• Support job site organization and enforce company standards

Hands-On Support

• Complete light carpentry, punch list items, and minor adjustments as needed
• Assist in preparing projects for inspections, walkthroughs, and project milestones

Logistics & Materials

• Assist with material pickups, deliveries, and coordination
• Help ensure materials and subs are aligned to maintain project timelines

✅ Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in residential construction or a related field
• Strong understanding of basic construction methods and sequencing
• Interest in growing into a Project Manager role
• Ability to take initiative and problem-solve independently
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Professional and respectful demeanor with clients and trade partners

🚗 Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for the past 5 years
• Reliable personal vehicle (vehicle or fuel allowance to be discussed with candidate )
• Must pass background check - This position requires a background check due to the nature of working in client homes and on active job sites. Findings are evaluated based on relevance to the role.
